How it all started

We aren’t called IOP Games for no reason – before coming up with Digital adventure games we’ve successfully produced many productions and games. They’ve all started from immersive theater and from creating Finland’s first escape room but have evolved far beyond what we could have imagined.

In 2014

Ágnes Kaszás and Zsófia Purnhauser founded the famous and successful InsideOut Escape Games, the very first and original real life room escape company in Finland, in which they combined theatre, art and science, which had and still has a huge impact on the entertainment scene in Finland.

By 2015

They opened 8 more escape games in 3 locations (their own escape center, at Hotel Katajanokka and at Hotel Rantapuisto in Helsinki), which were played by thousands and thousands of people throughout the years.

By 2015

They have developed Finland’s first portable escape game for young people at urban events and festivals, like Slush Festival, University of Helsinki, H2Ö Festival, Sideways Festival, Viaporin Kekri, urban family days and many other festivals. The same concept has been used to create successful promotional activities, including product launches for Lidl and launch parties for 5-star hotels.

Since 2015

They have also organized more than a hundred team building escape game experiences for companies like Lidl, Finnair, Veikkaus – Finland’s state owned betting agency, or the Finnish Ministry Of Education.

Since 2016

Ágnes Kaszás has been a guest teacher at Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences, where she gave lectures on immersive game design and concept development strategies.

In 2017

They created and Ágnes Kaszás directed a 13-hour and 1000 km-long immersive theatre show, set on a speeding train through Finland for VR Finnish National Railways, produced by TBWA, in collaboration with Nordisk Film based on the 20th Century Fox movie Murder On The Orient Express. ​The production was live-streamed and gained worldwide visibility resulting in media mentions by Sunday Times, Lonely Planet, and all the Finnish main tabloids. It also won two Bronze awards in the Eurobest creative festival and Ágnes was invited to the Up the game festival.

In 2018

Ágnes created the Last Drop game, an educational game in Finnish schools for the NGO International Solidarity Foundation (ISF) and has been developing the game further during 2018 and 2019.

In march 2018

She pioneered again, this time in collaboration with Veikkaus, the Finnish national betting agency, when they became the first company in Finland to have their own educational escape game operating at their headquarters. While solving puzzles and tasks, the players learn about Veikkaus’ responsible gaming tools. The game is used to train employees.
